Just get up off the ground, that’s all I ask. Get up there with that lady that’s up on top of this Capitol dome, that lady that stands for liberty. Take a look at this country through her eyes if you really want to see something. And you won’t just see scenery; you’ll see the whole parade of what Man’s carved out for himself, after centuries of fighting. Fighting for something better than just jungle law, fighting so’s he can stand on his own two feet, free and decent, like he was created, no matter what his race, color, or creed. That’s what you’d see. There’s no place out there for graft, or greed, or lies, or compromise with human liberties. And, uh, if that’s what the grownups have done with this world that was given to them, then we’d better get those boys’ camps started fast and see what the kids can do. And it’s not too late, because this country is bigger than the Taylors, or you, or me, or anything else. Great principles don’t get lost once they come to light. They’re right here; you just have to see them again!

the roberts court will never be seen in the same way again
from now on, the liberals will never view john roberts the same way ever again
not that john roberts is perfect and he will probably disappoint all the liberals in the future like he has done before, but today, he has certainly become the unexpected hero of the health care story, when everyone thought kennedy would be the ultimate decision-maker
and it’s ironic because obama voted against roberts’ confirmation in the senate, roberts messed up obama’s oath to presidency, and there’s all this ~history~ between the two
yet without roberts, obama’s crowning achievement of his first presidential term (being optimistic here) would not have been possible
and it just shows how important bipartisanship is in politics and sometimes you have to go beyond pure political ideologies to get shit done
and now millions of uninsured americans will have health insurance, yay
i feel like i just said what everyone else has already said, but i wasn’t home all day, so i haven’t had the chance, so forgive me, ok, thanks

Stephen Colbert: Now folks, like the rest of America, I was totally geeking out this weekend to see the epic adventure of the eternal child hero in the adorable glasses who is mankind’s only hope — Sarah Palin. I saw her in the documentary of her life, The Undefeated. Also looking forward to seeing that Harry Potter movie. Apparently, that came out this weekend, too. They really should have advertised it.
You know what, folks? These two would make a great double feature. Because both movies are about outsiders plucked from obscurity by an old wizard. And both heroes encounter deer in the forest. That of course is Harry’s patronus, who Sarah Palin shot and mounted in her den.
